First Movie! (well, sort of)

Today we took Carson to see his first movie, RIO! Well, technically it wasn't his "first" movie. When he was eight weeks old we took him to see "The Hangover" (which I am embarrassed to admit). But it was Father's Day and that's what Eric wanted to see. So, anyway, since he didn't remember that one, this was REALLY his first movie! He did great!! He absolutely LOVED it! He stay in his own seat most of the time and even danced around when the music came on. The licorice and his own soda really helped too. It was so cute and such a fun night! I was nervous about taking him, but since it was such a success, we will be going to movies more! Below are some pictures of the night. In the third one down some weird guy and his cute baby jumped in the picture ;)

2 YEAR OLD!

Carson had his 2-year-old doctor appointment today! The doctor said that he is doing great and right on target for his age! He weighs 29.1 lbs / 63% and his height is 34.45in tall / 57%. The doctor was also pleased with his progress in speech and has no concerns at this time! This is such a relief to us that he is where he needs to be in all of his development! We are so proud of our little Carson and he is such a joy in our lives! More than words can ever explain. I really don't know what I would be doing with my life if I didn't have this amazing, active, bratty, adorable, needy, whiny, lovable, perfect 2-year-old! I wouldn't have it any other way :)

BUTT PASTE

Ok, so this stuff is really amazing. It really clears up the rash right away! However, I don't like the name so much. It just feels funny saying it. So I usually don't say anything about it when I am changing Carson's diaper. Just put the cream on and new diaper and we're done! Sooooo, the other day when I was changing a diaper, I grabbed the stuff and Carson right away said, " BUTT PASTE!" What the!!?? First of all, we have been concerned about his speech delays. And then for him to come out and say Butt Paste! It was hilarious. I yelled out to Eric in the other room and said, " Did you hear that? He said Butt Paste!" And then he said it again! We were cracking up! So we couldn't figure out how he caught on to what it was called. Eric said he never says it and I asked Grandma Bev and she said she always calls it cream, because she doesn't like the word butt. So we found out! It was Grandma Patti! She has been watching Carson about once a week for the past month and she said she always says, now lets put the butt paste on! So last night, Carson was being his wild self right before bed he started saying "BUTT PASTE, BUTT PASTE, BUTT PASTE" over and over. So of course Daddy and Mommy were cracking up. And then daddy said, Can you say, "BUTT FACE" Oh great, here we go!

A nice day for a stroll

So Carson got this cute little trike for Christmas from Papa Ray and Grandma Bev. He absolutely loves it! The weather is finally warming up so we can go on little walks around the neighborhood. We just got this cute little helmet for him and he loves to wear it. The bike also has a little bell that Carson rings as he is riding around. Oh the joy! This is what life is really about! I just love being a mom! What did I do with my life before I had this little guy? :)

For the past few weeks Carson has been doing some really funny things that are so adorable. Every morning when daddy leaves for work, Carson runs to his room to look out the window to watch daddy go. He waves to daddy as he goes by, and then watches him go down the street. It is so darn cute! I missed the picture of him waving this time. Maybe next week!

Words!

Well, our little Carson is finally saying some words! It has been a long time coming. We have been worried that he hasn't started talking yet, but the past month he has really turned into quite the little jibber jabber. He has said Mama, dada and baba for quite a while but not much beyond that until just recently. His most favorite word right now is BALLOON! Sounds more like boon though. There have been some hot air balloons in the early morning around our house and every morning he tries to spot them out the window first thing! If he spots it he yells out BOON! He will stay there as long as he can see it, until it flies too far away. It is so darn cute. Just makes my heart melt! :) Other words we are enjoying him say are: juice, please, no, no mama, don't touch, duck, uh oh, whee, this, that, ben, ball, eww, out, off, shoe, and baby. We are so excited he is finally flourishing in his vocabulary. Last night we all sat down at the dinner table for dinner and Carson dominated the whole conversation. He was telling us quite the story with his little hands and all. It really brought a tear to my eye. We love you our little Carson! You are going to be 2 next month!

The joys of having a toddler!

I can't tell you how wonderful it is that we have a fun little boy that we can enjoy every minute with! My most favorite thing to do is play with him and watch him explore new things. He is the joy in our lives. We waited so long for our special boy. Our lives are now complete :)

Just a little peachy

We went to the big Peach Days in Hurricane! We had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all the displays. We ate some really good food and watched a little entertainment. It was a fun, relaxing Saturday... just the 3 of us :) It was really hot though. Carson came home with some cute rosy cheeks!

Water Fun!

Over the past few weeks, we have discovered that Carson loves playing in the water! So we have been taking him to the Town Square Water Park. It has been so much fun watching him have a blast! This weekend we are going to take him to the pool and see how that works out. I really think this is going to be a fun summer :)

Catching up!

These are some of my favorite pictures from the past few months. From bottom to top: Carson's first airplane ride in October. We flew to the East Coast to visit my sister and her family. Carson was wonderful on the plane. He really had fun! On Halloween he was a chunky monkey!! He was so adorable, although he didn't really like the costume too much. Carson was Santa's little helper at Christmas. We dressed him up as a Christmas Elf and passed out candy to all the kids. Carson's first black eye at 9 mos :( He pulled this table over on himself and a picture frame that was on it hit him in the eye :( That was a sad day. Next thing you know... Daddy is bolting all the tables to the wall!

Look who's walking!

Carson took his first step on Feb. 6, 2010 at 9 1/2 mos! He now takes 2-4 steps at a time. Oh boy! I guess I'm in for it! It actually makes me really emotional that he is growing up so fast. That's why I have decided to start posting more on this blog so I can keep track of what he is doing! :)
